Teatro Vista... Theatre With A View and Little Village Lawndale High School present

LA POSADA MAGICA

THE MAGICAL JOURNEY

Por/by Octavio Solis Música por/music by Marcos Loya Dirección/directed by Marcela Muñoz

November 28 – December 13

Performed in English with a Latin beat, this enchanting musical play for the entire family centers around a young girl who joins her neighborhood posada on Christmas eve. Along the way, Gracie and her companions encounter colorful characters, including chocolate-gobbling sisters, graveyard spooks and a heartthrob rock singer. Finally, the journey through her community commemorates Joseph and Mary’s search for lodging and becomes for Gracie a time of discovery, renewal and reunion.

Tickets $5 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the door (cash or check only). Reservations can be made by calling 312.666.4659 or online http://boxoffice.printtixusa.com/teatrovista/eventcalendar.

Dreamlandia

While I'm not working on this play, it's a play muy serca de mi corazón.

I hope it gets the press and audience that it deserves.

The cast is an amazing group of Teatro Vista ensemble that includes: Sandra Delgado, Charin Alvarez, Tony Sancho and Marcus Castillo along with some new and talented faces.

The play is written by Octavio Solis who I think is such a great contemporary American playwright. Directing this play is the silver haired thunderbolt Cecilie Keenan. I suspect she will take her already superb directing to the next level with Dreamlandia. Artist Luis DeLaTorre will be designing the set for this production.

Dreamlandia

March 22 through May 4, 2008

Crisp and comic, Dreamlandia is where dreams and reality collide for a family living on the US/Mexico border as they deal with NAFTA, narcotics and illegal immigration. Epic, inventive this vibrant play is witness to a clear and potent political voice.

Dreamlandia will be performed at
Victory Gardens Greenhouse
2257 N. Lincoln Avenue
