A fascinating discussion on José Limón and the creation process of There is a Time illustrated by exerpts of the work as performed by the company. The panel discussion will feature Sarah Stackhouse of The José Limón Foundation, former Limón Dance Company dancer Scott Lundius, and dance historian Susan Manning of Northwestern University.

There is a Time will be performed at Luna Negra Dance Theater's Ciclos on September 26 & 27 at 8:00pm at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.

An exhilarating evening of movement and stories revealing the essence of human conflict in all its shapes. Join us for spectacular Latino contemporary dance to celebrate Luna Negra Dance Theater's 10th Anniversary!

The program features the Chicago Premiere of There is a Time, a masterwork by José Limón, one of the most prominent American choreographers (of Latino origin) in modern dance; the world premiere of Deshár Alhát (Leave Sunday) with live music by Stefani Valadez, a ground-breaking work by Eduardo Vilaro exploring the fascinating traditions, music and culture of the Sephardic Jews who settled in Latin America in the early 20th century; and AviMar, a new work by emerging Mexican choreographer Francisco Aviña in collaboration with Stephanie Martinez.
