Tianguis Book Club Discussion: The Devil's Highway

Join us for the first of two book club discussions on, the award winning, and Pulitzer Prize finalist:

The Devil's Highway by Luis Alberto Urrea

The book is a true story about a 2004 account of a group of Mexican immigrants lost in the Arizona desert on a deadly stretch known as The Devil's Highway or La Carretera del Diablo.

The date for second bookclub discussion for this selection is forthcoming. The bookclub is free and open to everyone.

Our June feature is Lisa Alvarado, author of Sister Chicas, and The Housekeepers Diary. Lisa will be sharing with us from her new body of work including her new poetry manuscript. And we'll also be divulging your favorite gossip tid-bits from chisme box and as always there will be an open-mic for interested participants. Free. Event details.
