Secrets flourish in an unknown Carribbean town when Reiderico begins sneaking out of the house to see his best friend who lives at the bottom of a well and his aunt Bolivia begins secretly treating syphilis patients at an open-air market. They live under the suffocating rule of the strict matriarch of the house who doesn't notice when Reiderico his friend trade places and secret desires and confrontations are dredged up.
