Sabado-Writing, Flan and Not so Scary Flick

Link

Being part of a writing group is such a wonderful experience!! Especially, when they are so talented, unique and incredibly intelligent Latinas. I frantically scanned all my files to find
a halfway decent story to present to them. It is the first story I have presented to them in months. I felt nervous about this story, but happy that I had a story at all. Didn't want to hear Irasali or Analisa push my trigger button. Thanks ladies for the extra push!!

Made a pitstop at the grocery store. The cashier rang up the Danish roll and the big red bottle of wine. Have a good day she says. I look at the bottle and say, "you bet we will." Finally, make it into Irasali's neck of the woods. Run into Irasali's cute mom on the front steps. She was surrounded by newspapers in plastic bags. We joke that since there were so many maybe we could open up a newstand or something. When I was coming in I startled her dad. Perdon.

When I got into her apartment the mole colored walls welcomed me. Making my way into the kitchen I gazed on a delicious halo of flan sitting on her table. Her mom had taken the time to make it and it was so TASTY!!

Analisa is working on some vingettes (I almost said vinegrettes) about her trip to Paris. She is so committed to her writing. Irsali and Dr.V, who is are newest member, shared their poems with us and Chench shared her writing idea with us having to do with the secrets that night holds.

After the meeting we ordered out, laughed and prepared to watch Ringu the Japanese original version of the movie the Ring. Halloween 4 is scarier than this flick we watched. Guiam tried to watch the flick, but we were feeling rowdy and Ringu turned into Ragu. She said, "You guys are a Ford City audience!" In other words annoying!! We have a lot of fun complaining, dreaming, drinking, writing and eating. Hope we do this for many years to come...

I loved having everyone over. Thanks for bringing that short story you were working on--please have more of it for next time I wanna know what happens with those cajeta hands. Also, you should really watch Halloween 1 it is by far scarrier to part four. Can't wait 'til next month.

friendship, writing and wine is always a good mix.

Diana, I am all for friendship and wine, I flunk at writing, I guess two out of three ain't bad.

Anyway, I liked both "The Ring" and "Ringu" a lot, too bad I see an onslaught of bad Japanese movies and their American remakes coming our way.

Like Shall We Dance. The Japanese version was excellent. I still have not seen the J-Lo version.

Yes, let's have a Japanese "shall we dance" party.
