Of Bills and Faraway Places

Link

There is nothing like coming home to mountain of bills. Tempted to make papel picado out of them, but they can never be as beautiful. The credit card companies must smell blood because they send me credit card applications by the avalanche. STOP IT!!

It's so time consuming to go through them. Some of them even have blank checks inside of them. More hassle. Arggghhh, let the New Year be a little prosperous please!!

Anyway, I'm in purge mode which means in the next few days I will be throwing out whatever I can find. Not that I have much to begin with, but the stuff I hold on to hinders me. The chair I dragged in from the alley is definately staying. The moment I saw it I knew I had to bring it home. It reminds me of Chihuahua, Mexico on my tía's ranch making fideo and tortillas hechas a mano.

I'm not big on the Holiday's, but if I did have a holiday wish it would be me in Mexico City having breakfast with my niece and heading over to the children's museum with her. Here's an ironic song to be listening to (You Belong to the City) especially when I haven't left Chicago for a whole year to go back to Mexico City.

Despite my creditors caroling outside my door this holiday season, I'm thinking of taking a trip. Mexico is always first on my list, but I feel the need to put myself some place else. Russia, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Argentina, Spain, Italy and Chile are a few places that have been sneaking up on me in my head. So are there any bloggers with waderlust also? Any suggestions on favorite places to go to or places you dream of going to?

Two places on top of my list:

Machu Picchu

Gernika

And yes, I need one of those "purge" days, I cling to so much stuff that is not even funny.

Oaxaca - especially since my sis raved about it.
The Wine Country!

Gernika sounds great and so does Wine country. Anything that has wine in it sounds good about now.

A paper shredder will help speed up the purge process with those credit card offers.
