misc. friday

The red hat is the size of an appetizer tray with a hideous flower coming out of it. The hat is too much for the little lady. One can't help, but stare at it. I've seen her and the hat twice in the last three days. It's the kind of hat the reminds of easter sunday on a tuesday.

Going to Marshall Fields was a nightmare this afternoon. They are like vultures clawing at a carcas.

Credit cards glinting, women oohing the real fur shawls, jewelery cases twinkling with diamonds, fat shopping bags swaying down the aisles, a thousand perfumes scald the inside of my nostrils, where is my gas mask?

I did see something I've been meaning to get. It's called a money tree. No, I don't want to get it because it's supposed to attract $$. For that I have my moon jars, but the treeplant's brown stem is in the shape of a braid. When properly taken care of it grows really pretty. It makes me think of some place else other than Chicago.

Anyway, as soon as I got what I needed I jumped on a bus to escape the madness. A little old lady was sitting a few seats away. She was wearing a wig too big for her and
had baby jane rouged cheeks. I could hear her muttering something, but could make out what she was saying.

Leaning up against the bus window I started thinking of these flowers I saw at the grocery store. Pink, white, orange, off white. Maybe, tomorrow when I'm not feeling lazy I will go and pick some up. So if you are going to go Holiday shopping go the moment the store opens it's doors. Have a list of what you are going to get, get it, and run fast and far.

Shopping this year will be narrowed down to Borders and a couple of liquor stores.

good X-mas shopping plan - another thing I do is to "research" a store and its goods on the internet before going.
